A Revolution

Women
Cervical cancer is not only slow-growing, but also treatable and preventable. Tools to eliminate cervical cancer already exist, yet the tools for diagnosing and treating the disease are often expensive, difficult to use, and reserved for specialty physicians in centralized hospitals. Every cervical cancer death reminds us that we fail to meet the needs of a billion women facing sexual and reproductive health gaps globally. For millions of women, care is too far, too expensive and highly stigmatized.
We must disrupt the status quo by empowering women to lead the movement to close this gap themselves. We will deploy Women-Inspired Strategies for Health (WISH) that put women, not hospitals, at the center of the solution. We will train a competent and compassionate community-based workforce to bring these solutions directly to women’s homes. Beyond this technology, we will scale traditional storytelling with modern digital technology such that each woman uses her empowered voice to mobilize others. In 10 short years, we will achieve the WHO targets for cervical cancer in two epicenters in Latin America and Africa and catalyze a global, women-led revolution against cervical cancer.
